is obvious that there is an influence from paintings of tragic people, created
by Carl Hofer, whose master pupil he had become after former studies in the
painting class of the expressionist painter Georg Tappert.
The years 1953 - 54 can be characterized as a period of transition with
abstract-surrealistic paintings. From the year 1954 he turned to
non-representational art - Hofer was not amused - and started to develop
formal inventions of his own and is still searching for the unknown:
